Now that the holiday season has departed for another year, I can finally stop and reflect on how truly blessed we are as a community. The Senior & Social Service departments, led by Kathie Peck, along with her staff and senior volunteers work tirelessly to provide so much to so many.

The outpouring of generosity from Montville residents, businesses and organizations was astonishing. Many of the Town of Montville employees gave generously of themselves as well. Our Youth Services worked hard putting together stocking stuffers of gift cards. Civic groups held collections for canned food and toys to give families a holiday that would be remembered for many years to come. Seeing our seniors and youth working together to bring the joy of the holidays to families that are in need is what the Christmas season is all about.

We should be proud of the town we live in and the wonderful people who live here. I am grateful to all the hard working town employees and all of those in our community who helped to make a difference this holiday season.
