Vote for Hanser on New London council

There is a reason why Connecticut rid itself of the party lever a number of years ago. One important reason is that it allowed voters to choose the best and most qualified candidates for themselves, rather than being forced into voting for a list of candidates chosen for them.

Wanting to be a city councilor with the backing of a political party is not as important as the qualities, knowledge and experience the candidate brings to the position. New Londoners simply don't have the luxury or the time for on-the-job training.

The next two years and beyond can and should make a difference in this community's future, which has been on hold for too long and the choice of council candidates is more important than ever.

Tim Hanser has shown a commitment to this community from his participation in Pfizer's SamJam which brought science to life for over 2,000 middle-schoolers from around this region to his membership on the 2004 Charter Revision Commission and his longtime advocacy for Riverside and other parks in our community.

Tim has a wealth of knowledge of this city and its problems and I urge you to consider him when casting your vote.
