Feeling positive in Preston about Mohegan plans

After reading the David Collins' column, “Norwich Hospital development remains fantasy,” (Jan. 20), I am saddened once again that some attitudes at The Day never change. The Day stated three days earlier in an editorial that they had urged the citizens of Preston not to purchase the property in 2009 and admitted that might have been the wrong opinion at that time.

Once again we have a naysayer from The Day with no skin in the game stating the “Norwich Hospital development remains fantasy.” As a 43-year resident of Preston, I have strong faith that the Mohegan Tribe will develop this property and make it a world-class destination.

If Collins thinks this is a great deal for the Mohegan Tribe then I am very happy for them. When the tribe does develop this property within five years it will also be a very strong win for Preston.

Unlike Collins, I see a positive vision not a fantasy and I urge all my fellow citizens to attend the informational meetings on Feb. 2 and 4 and hopefully support and vote to move forward to make a positive vision a reality.
