Tough getting about on Boston Post Rd.

Driving on Boston Post Road from East Lyme through Old Lyme hasn't been pleasant for a few years now. This is due to the endless construction on the two small bridges, one of which was finally finished last fall, while the other one near Ron's Guns is still being worked on.

Most drivers and local townspeople are saying enough is enough. Why not continue the bridge work round the clock to get that project completed and put more money in the workers' pockets? Seems no one cares how inconvenient it is to all concerned.

Then add in whatever was being done with the telephone poles a while back, and the tree trimming last year, road resurfacing and repairing. And the new traffic light across from Ron's Guns, which was a good idea.

Many times I would drive from East Lyme through Old Lyme and be stopped three to four times for multiple projects, with only a single lane open. This is not to take anything away from the hard-working men and women who have done a fantastic job with their projects.

Add in the traffic backups on I-95 south and traffic becomes a nightmare on the Boston Post Road.

It would be considerate to give us updates often, so we are not left in the dark.
