Beach wasn't open

I want to clarify a misconception stated in the letter, “Beach wasn’t ready,” (June 27). The Eastern Point Beach season did not officially open until June 17. A porta-potty is provided for the public during the off-season and is removed the day before the beach season commences.

The porta-potty is serviced twice a week in May-June. The incident mentioned in the letter occurred on the weekend of June 10 before the beach opened.
