Bipartisan request: consider serving your Groton community

Groton, like many towns, relies on citizens to volunteer, serve on boards and commissions and help accomplish some of the work necessary to ensure the success and advancement of our community. Presently, we need new volunteers for several boards and commissions, most of which meet for just a couple hours once or twice per month, including Beautification Committee, Board of Assessment Appeals, Community Development Advisory Committee, Conservation Commission, Economic Development Commission-Fair Rent Commission, Historic District Commission, Inland Wetlands Agency, Library Board, Neighborhood Revitalization Zone, Parks and Recreation Commission, Retirement Board, Shellfish Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals.

No experience is necessary, just the willingness to serve. For younger citizens, these boards are great resume builders, especially for those looking to be more involved in local government services.

To complete an application, please go to our town's website: http://www.groton-ct.gov/town_gov/b_c.asp
