Still wants to move Coast Guard museum
Some years ago, I wrote to you regarding the location of the planned Coast Guard Museum. (And you published it). It is amazing that the argument is still going on, “Expanding garage for museum too costly,” (May 19).
Even at that time it was obvious that the garage was inadequate to handle much more traffic. The bridge over the tracks would be a godsend just to get to ferries but really necessary for tourists to get to the museum. Then there is the matter of the building itself to be designed and built to withstand rising water levels.
Lastly, I have seen articles from time to time saying that donations are not exactly flooding in. Maybe that could change if the location were changed over to the Fort Trumbull area. Common sense.
