Norwich needs new schools
Norwich desperately needs new schools and now is the time for your approval! Reimbursement costs from the state are at an all-time high, thus lowering the out-of-pocket cost which will be borne by the taxpayer. (“Norwich voters will be asked whether they support $385 million schools project,” Oct. 19)
Our schools are in various stages of decay, the mechanicals are failing, roofs need replacing, and the cost of these repairs will far exceed the requested amount of the bond referendum. State & Federal guidelines requiring air quality and handicap accessibility for our schools can no longer be ignored. A majority of the facilities are antiquated and lack adequate electrical, plumbing, lighting to effectively educate and provide our students with the resources they need to succeed. Please vote YES on Nov. 8.
