I am an Old Lyme Selectman, a husband and father, work in law enforcement, and am an unaffiliated voter. For me, the choice for state Representative is clear – incumbent Devin Carney.

Devin has always been supportive of law enforcement – he supports better pay, recruiting the best and the brightest, and making sure the men and women in blue are safe. He stands with victims of violent crimes and not with criminals.

Devin supports our local public schools and always fights to keep our decision-making with the folks who know our schools best – parents and teachers. He knows that state government does not have Lyme-Old Lyme schools’ best interests in mind and that was clear when they tried to shove forced school regionalization down our throats.

As an unaffiliated, I have been impressed with how Devin has worked in a bipartisan manner. He received the “Rising Star” award from the Millennial Action Project – an organization solely focused on ending political tribalism – for his work in this area. We also need him up in Hartford to fight against higher taxes and spending.

He has my support – and he deserves yours, too.
