How about flooding problem at Black Hall Pond?

So Old Lyme leadership has decided to use $55,000 from Federal Funding to fix a flooding problem at the beach where residents live less than three months a year. (“Federal cash infusion addresses flooding in Old Lyme,” Jan. 5)

So where is the money to fix the flooding problem at Black Hall Pond where residents live year round? For years we have asked Old Lyme leadership for help to stop the flooding at Black Hall Pond. There is not anyone in Connecticut that is not aware that the blockage in Bucky Brook has stopped the flow of water out of the spring fed pond, killed thousands of trees, filled the pond with sediment and destroyed the home of Dave Berggren. The simple solution of dredging out Bucky Brook and creating a channel has been turned into bureaucratic BS. Instead of adding sidewalks in uninhabited areas or creating a pedestrian bridge no one will use, Old Lyme Leadership should use some of the remaining two million in Federal Funds to finally fix Black Hall Pond!
