The column by Joe Battenfeld (“Trumped up charges could become rallying cry for Republicans,” March 14) was more MAGA blather.

Let us start by agreeing that in America, No One is Above the Law! His position that the pending (at this time) New York Indictment is “pursuing a political agenda” reeks of MAGA beliefs in Qanon and other fantasies. Get real. Trump broke the law (repeatedly) and should be held responsible just like you or I if we broke the law.

As for the spectrum of potential cases against Trump, they should all be pursued to their legal endpoints. Certainly, being a traitor to the Constitution would be high on my list! How sad to be a participant in Jan. 6 believing the pathological lies spewed by Trump only to remain in jail without the pardon(s) he hinted at.

And finally, how can anyone disagree with Senator Warren when she is quoted as, “This is the law operating as it should without fear or favor for anyone.” If the MAGA folks want to follow a false Messiah, at least pick someone who does not lie to you, who is not openly racist, someone who believes in America rather than the sad image of a king without a kingdom.
