    Scarcity of local doctors

Having just finished reading the Mayo Clinic article, “When to seek help for memory loss,” on May 16, my question to The Day is, “Exactly where do you think we, in this area of NLD coverage, can possibly locate any of the suggested health care team?”

With the abundance of medical professionals we now have, very few are accepting new patients. Family doctors and general practitioners are now APRNs or PA-Cs. Their referrals have become a sheet of printed paper with referral names and phone numbers for the “client,” (once referred to as a “patient”) to start the process of possibly locating a needed doctor. Information is good, only if it can be put to use.
