Flags to honor graves marked as veterans in Groton cemetery

Each year on Memorial Day weekend, Fleet Reserve Association, Veterans Service Organization, consisting of Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard enlisted personnel, Branch 20, Groton, places flags on the graves of veterans in Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, Mitchell Street, Groton. During April, members of Branch 20 placed veterans grave marker/flag holders on those graves that were clearly marked as veterans. We invite the families who have veterans in Col. Ledyard Cemetery to join us to ensure that we have honored everyone. We will start at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 27, and invite anyone who would like to honor those veterans by placing flags to join us.
