    How about a Cheney-Ryan team?

Here is what might be a good idea for rescuing our democracy in 2024. Elect team Liz Cheney and Paul Ryan! The motto could be HONESTY & COMMON SENSE, both of which seem to be lacking in present contenders.

Just last week, Wednesday May 17, at the Capitol was the unveiling of a portrait of Paul Ryan in honor of his service as Speaker of The House (2015-2019). He left when Trump came on the scene. He was praised by several noted Republicans for his ability to work amicably with both sides of the aisle.

On Monday, May 29, The Day published an article on a talk given to college graduates by Liz Cheney headlined, “No compromises with the truth.” In a paragraph regarding her situation if she would run she said, although she would face an uphill battle, her “fierce anti-Trump stance and her role as vice chairwoman of the House Committee elevated her platform high enough to call on a national network of donors and Trump critics to support a White House run.”

Doesn’t this make sense in this seemingly hopeless time?
