Inspiring stories of high school seniors

I have been reading stories in The Day profiling the many outstanding high school seniors graduating this year. I am moved to write this letter to applaud these accomplished young people.

The news is full of stories about the many lost youths drifting through their adolescent years with no self-control, no purpose, and indeed no common sense. The recent inspiring profiles help to refocus our attention on the many young people with dreams, ambition, goals and the understanding that anything worth having is worth the effort to achieve it.

I am so impressed with the many inspirational stories and the focused plans for the future that are described. I choose to believe that there are students similar to the ones in these reports in every school in Connecticut. May their futures be as bright as their ambitions.
