School honor rolls are important news

I only get the paper to see the local news. Unfortunately, to my great disappointment, The Day only cares about some local news. Apparently, children who work hard, study and succeed are not news. My two children recently achieved honors and high honors for a local high school at year-end grades. They are in advanced placement classes making the achievement even more rewarding.

I looked for their honor rolls to be published in The Day, as they have done so in the past, but to my dismay there was nothing. When I called The Day, I was told that no school's honor rolls will be posted anymore, because they have to "prioritize the news" now; and there's no room for honor rolls. I responded that if there's no room for such important local information, then there was no need for me to subscribe. Why read a newspaper that does not think our children's successes are important? Please cancel my subscription immediately.
