State DOT ignoring Route 85 traffic jam

There is a backup of rush hour traffic on Route 85 northbound from Waterford to the Route 85 Chesterfield traffic light in Montville. This could be alleviated by lengthening that green light for Route 85 traffic to flow, rather than having vehicles being at close to a standstill for miles.

I have contacted the State DOT and been informed that the LTA (local traffic authority) has to notify them. I have made this suggestion to the Mayor. As LTA, the Mayor of Montville, Ronald McDaniel Jr., has also contacted the CTDOT several times. Cynthia Young of the Customer Care Center even replied to the Mayor that the LTA was the one who must notify the CTDOT! The correct persons have been requested to review this traffic jam.

State Department of Transportation is not following through. This is a simple suggestion. I am asking all drivers on Route 85 to contact Cynthia Young at 860-830-0811 or dot.customercare@ct.gov. The LTA, Montville Mayor, has done as the State requested to seek a solution to this traffic jam. The CTDOT needs to follow through!
