Pequotsepos Nature Center Hero Award

Congratulations to Maggie Jones for receiving the richly deserved Environmental Hero Award last month. Presented by the Dension Pequotsepos Nature Center, this event recognized Maggie's many and varied contributions to our community. She directed the Center for 27 years, expanding its programs and acreage. Her work established significantly more green space in our area, saved property from development, developed the community garden, established community connections among many organizations, and educated us all in environmental issues. I personally learned so much during many enjoyable hikes with her!
