    Thankful to be in Connecticut

As we approach Thanksgiving, I'd just like to say that I'm very thankful to be in Connecticut, where our politicians are comparatively sane, especially with that income tax cut that passed with bipartisan support this past summer. I'm also thankful for living in a state where our public education is among the best, as I am a proud alum of East Lyme High School and the University of Connecticut. I would like to add that I'm also thankful to live in a state where multiple corporations are headquartered — including the manufacturer of my car's audio system, Harman-Kardon! Finally, I am thankful for the state's natural environments, such as Barn Island, where ospreys and many other endemic organisms can thrive. And don't even get me started on how easy it can be to go on a day trip to Boston or NYC!
