I've been fortunate to have lived in Niantic for approximately 20 years. I am writing this to suggest to everyone, between now and the new year, to take a leisurely drive down Main Street after dark and I can promise it will bring a smile to your face.

I believe there's some magic that happens during the Christmas season and Main Street is proof of that. I walk downtown Niantic often and drive through on my way home many days, too, but in my 20 years here I have never, not even once, seen anyone decorating the street for the holiday but magically, some wonderful people manage to get it done, I just don't know when or how they get it done so quickly. I would like them to know how much I appreciate all their time and effort.

No matter what frame of mind I happen to be in on any particular day, once I hit Main Street and take in the lights and decorations, I am magically transformed into a happy person. Thank you, thank you to all that are involved in helping to lift my spirits during the holiday season.
