The voters of East Lyme deserve better. The chairperson of the zoning commission in East Lyme in 2023, lost her bid to remain on the zoning commission in the election of November 2023. Through a series of resignations and appointments, she rapidly regained both a seat on the commission and then the chair. The voters are left with the same zoning commission chairperson we had before the election. There were four other candidates for the appointment who were well qualified, yet they were passed over by the commission to get the former chairperson “back in the band again.” Makes one wonder, why vote at all when the results are ignored?
