    Chris Powell rewrites history

I'm responding to Chris Powell's op-ed piece in The Day (Feb. 20), “Murphy’s pork is inflation; U.S. wrecks Ukraine.” I've read many of Mr. Powell's articles and generally found them to be informative and thoughtful, whether or not I agreed with them. However, his blaming the U.S. for Russia's invasion of Ukraine is beyond indecent.

Perhaps next week he'll tell Alexei Navalny's widow, and the rest of us, about how tolerant Putin is of political dissent. He can then tell us how Neville Chamberlain was right and Winston Churchill was wrong about Hitler's interest in conquering Europe. I hope re-writing history is not Mr. Powell's new journalistic mission.
