I would like to extend my thanks to multiple local organizations and individuals who assisted in building a wheelchair ramp for a local family in need.

To Craig at Holdridge’s in Ledyard for supplying needed hardware. To Dave, Mike and TJ, at Norwich Lumber for greatly discounting the cost of construction materials. To Juliet and the staff of the Ledyard Building Department for streamlining the application process and paying for the building application — I think out of their own pocket! To Seamus, Ledyard building inspector, who provided prompt and professional attention, coupled with his personal interest and his great construction advice. To Scott Johnson, President of the Ledyard Rotary, and all the Rotarians for paying the entire balance left for the cost of the ramp. Special thanks to Rotarian Jeff, for helping to build the ramp!

In our current era of deep political and social division, coupled with some downright mean behavior that we witness daily, it was greatly uplifting to see so many people come together to assist this family. My most sincere compliments to you all.
