My husband and I enjoyed reading Daniel Drainville’s March 11 article, “Movie Night Memories,” about the Norwich-New London Drive-in back in the day. One evening in November 1973, my then-boyfriend and I went there in his 1968 black Camaro to see Al Pacino’s “Serpico.”

He surprised me with an engagement ring that I accidentally dropped between the seats! We opened our doors and, with the interior lights on, we searched for the ring and finally found it. We called my parents to tell them the news and, by the time we arrived at their home around midnight, they had already gathered family and friends and were celebrating with champagne! That boyfriend and I will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in May. Exciting times, cherished memories.
