    Lowering BAC is discriminatory

The well-intentioned push to lower the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) threshold to 0.05 for DUI does not address the problem, and will discriminate against women and minorities. It will limit even one beer for a 120 pound woman, and will be another tool for targeted motor vehicle stops, where field sobriety tests are already subjective. The real problem is essentially zero enforcement of speed and distracted driving on our highways.

Most alcohol-related accidents are by chronic drunks with multiple DUIs and others driving under suspension. The legislature should deal with these issues first.
