I'm curious to know how many animals are housed at the facility that $2.2 million is needed to replace it. I don't feel that funds from the Town Reserve should be utilized for this. I would bet if I started a petition to submit at the next meeting, I would secure more than 1,200 signatures asking that funds from the reserve be used towards lowering taxes for seniors or those disabled, improve the roads, or buying new furniture for the Senior Center lobby.

I was there two weeks ago, and the furniture looks like something that was picked up from the transfer station. I guarantee that after a new facility is built and paid for by taxpayer funds, surrounding towns will jump on board to utilize it with no monies contributed.
