The March 25 front page of The Day said it all. Right under “The Day” logo was a headline, “Conn. lawmakers hunt for way to work around budget cap.” Then directly under that was a picture of three women dressed as witches in the Mystic Irish Parade, “Witch way to the fun?” This is the state of our country. Budgets and laws are more like suggestions and the people we elected to follow the laws are busy hunting for ways around them. The president is printing more and more money to the point where our money has as much value as Monopoly money.

This kind of behavior not only makes our money worthless, it makes our country worthless, just like those South American countries people are fleeing. Acting like spoiled brats, we only keep increasing our free handouts. Learn to use the word “no!” Demand that our lawmakers keep to the budget and that the budget is fair.
