Alternative venues for library book sales outreach

I'm writing in reference to The Times article by John Steward on library book sales.

If I remember correctly, libraries used to post "No Dealers" at their events.

I believe your issues (there seem to be many), are with them. Maybe the libraries should bring that practice back (you mention it). We're still a capitalist America and if anyone can make money, and it's legal, good for them. It's what people are willing to pay. The library could also sell them online directly. They could hold a library fundraiser at schools at the year’s end so families could have first preference. Have the towns set up a non-profit or other entity to allow online selling for the library? A high school student volunteer could run it. While I agree with you on the dealers’ methods at the shows, it's allowed and it's America!
