Local college roundup: Norwalk's Enoch commits to UConn men

UConn received a verbal commitment from 6-foot-10 power forward Steven Enoch of Norwalk on Saturday night.

Enoch, a member of the Class of 2015, told the UConn coaching staff during his official visit this weekend and later made his announcement on Twitter. He attended the UConn football game in East Hartford with the men's basketball team on Saturday. The national champions were honored during the game.

As a junior, Enoch averaged 14.4 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.4 blocks at Norwalk High School.

Enoch's stock has risen over the last couple of months. He's gained attention on the AAU circuit playing for the High Rise Team Up program.

Rhode Island, Boston College and Providence College were some of the teams that showed interest in Enoch.

Enoch, who grew up a Husky fan, has called UConn his dream school during the recruiting process. He's attending St. Thomas More in Montville this year.
