Hammerhead Qualifies for New Englands

On Dec. 3, the Mystic YMCA Hammerheads swim team hosted its first home meet of the season against the Ansonia Valley YMCA Sprinters.
Hammerhead swimmer Jack Wheeler, age 12, took first place in the 50-yard breast stroke with a time of 38.14 seconds. This time qualifies him for the New England Championship, which is held in April at Harvard University in Boston.
The Hammerheads this year has nearly 100 swimmers ranging in ages 5 to 17.
