Fitch alumni raise money for new scoreboard

Groton - The newly formed Fitch High School Alumni Foundation is holding its first fundraising campaign, seeking to raise $15,000 from graduates and the community to purchase a new scoreboard for the high school's football field.

"While our organization is still developing a support base, we were happy to have this opportunity to help Fitch," said Eric Janney, a 1984 Fitch graduate and the foundation's president. "It's what the foundation was designed for, and we're happy to rise to the occasion."

The foundation, founded in June 2008 with support from the Groton Board of Education, is governed by a board comprised mostly of Fitch alumni.

To make a tax-exempt donation, mail contributions to the Fitch High School Alumni Foundation, P.O. Box 1356, Groton, CT 06340. For more information on the foundation, visit www.fitchalumni.org.
