Take a walk with your dog to fight cancer

Rocky Hill - Dogs and dog lovers will gather at the American Cancer Society's Bark For Life event on Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford to help the American Cancer Society raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer.

Since dogs are not permitted at Relay For Life events, Bark For Life gives those who view their dogs as support systems a chance to raise money for the fight against cancer. Registration is $10 with a commitment to raise funds for the lifesaving mission of the American Cancer Society. Registered dogs will receive a Bark For Life bandana.

Individual walkers and teams are both welcome. All dogs must be on a leash at all times and dog owners/participants are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. For more information, contact the American Cancer Society at (800) 227-2345 or visit us at cancer.org.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
