Former Bozrah first selectman considering run for 20th District state Senate seat

Keith Robbins, a former first selectman in Bozrah, said Thursday that he would announce next week whether he intends to run for the state Senate seat held by Andrea Stillman, D-Waterford.

Robbins served eight years as first selectman of Bozrah, a town of 2,400, until he decided not to seek re-election in 2007. He served six years on the Board of Selectmen prior to assuming the top post. He then went on to work as the town manager in Winchester. He also worked as a salesman for Major Electric.

Robbins has been a recent critic of the legislature's handling of the state's budget deficit and other issues.

Stillman serves the 20th Senate district, which serves the towns of East Lyme, Montville, New London, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Salem and Waterford. She is in her fourth term.
