    Artist seeking student self-portraits for New London mural

    New London – The artist organizing the “Faces of New London” mural is looking for local students to submit self-portraits, which will be reproduced on the mural being painted on the backside of the Hygienic stage wall facing Eugene O’Neill Drive.

    Students in seventh, eighth, ninth and 12th grades may submit self-portraits for consideration. Portraits must be head and shoulders, square format, colorful and smiling, in any medium, with name, age, grade and parent contact information on the back.

    Deadline is June 1. Portraits may be dropped off at The Gallery at Firehouse Square, 239 Bank St., New London, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 pm, or left in the principal’s office for pick-up.

    The Faces of New London Mural is being led by Mystic artist Russ Kramer, with 20 New London artists painting portraits of historic and contemporary New Londoners.
