Man arrested after morning disturbance
Norwich – A local man was arrested on numerous charges today after an argument over drugs escalated into a domestic violence incident, police said.
Patrick Hairston, 42, of 38 Cliff St., Apt. #1, was charged today with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, possession of heroin with intent to sell, illegal possession of prescription medications, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, misuse of a marker plate and failure to carry proper insurance.
He was held on a $25,000 bond.
Police said they responded to a call of a disturbance on Cliff Street at 11:39 a.m. today. After several interviews, officers learned the incident started with an argument over drugs and escalated to domestic violence.
Police seized several items of packaging materials, scales, a small amount of heroin and various prescription drugs packaged for street level sales. Police also seized $300 in cash and a vehicle.
