NCDC hires new economic development associate

Norwich – The Norwich Community Development Corp. announced Tuesday that it has hired the planner who has been working with the city on the new 10-year plan of development as the agency’s economic development associate.

Jason Vincent, vice president and senior planner at Planimetrics, was hired as the NCDC's senior economic development associate. Vincent starts his position Wednesday at a salary of $85,000 and will succeed Kelly Kennedy, who left recently.

Vincent has a bachelor’s degree in geography with a specialization in planning and computer-aided drafting and technology. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. At Planimetrics, Vincent was responsible for project management and assisting communities with long-term goals and strategies.

Prior to his tenure at Planimetrics, Vincent was the director of planning in the towns of Stonington and Plainfield.

“Jason is a much-needed addition to our team,” said NCDC Executive Director Robert Mills. “Jason’s expertise strengthens NCDC’s ability to better service the growing needs of the city. We are excited to have him on board.”

Mayor Peter Nystrom, also an NCDC member, called Vincent a “key player” in updating the city’s plan of conservation and development and now will get a chance to “implement his work” with NCDC.
