    Rocky Neck beach closed

    East Lyme – The swimming area at Rocky Neck State Park is closed due to poor water quality after Monday’s heavy rainfall, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced today.

    Resampling will take place on Wednesday and results available by Thursday, DEEP said.

    In addition, Other beaches closed due to poor water quality after the rainstorm include: Sherwood Island State Park in Westport (east end only); Silver Sands State Park in Milford; Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth; and Kettletown State Park in Southbury.

    In addition to beaches closed due to poor water quality, Green Falls Pond in Pachaug State Forest in Voluntown is also closed due to low water level.
