2012 Women & Girls Fund grants deadline is Aug. 15

For the Women & Girls Fund-Southeastern area (East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, Lyme, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Old Lyme, Salem, Stonington and Waterford), grants to charitable organizations serving those towns will support programs that address domestic violence prevention and aid its victims; help women enter or re-enter the workforce; and help low-income, elderly New London women.

For the Women & Girls Fund – Norwich area (Norwich, Bozrah, Colchester, Franklin, Griswold, Lebanon, Lisbon, Preston, Sprague, and Voluntown), grants will support programs of charitable organizations that advance family economic security; prevent teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases; or promote healthy relationships and safe environments for women and girls.

Applications must be received by or postmarked Aug. 15. Visit www.cfect.org. Contact Jennifer O’Brien, program director, at (860) 442-3572 or at JennOB@cfect.org before submitting applications.

The foundation makes $2 million in awards annually in eastern Connecticut.
