Guilford Food Center co-owner Ron Rosa sported a spiffy tuxedo to greet dozens of guests crowding up the red carpet, as others watched from behind the velvet rope, outside his Whitfield Street shop on Aug. 8. The event celebrated the national premiere of the new film “Hope Springs” which includes scenes shot in the food center last year (featuring actress Meryl Streep). The Aug. 8 event was a way to celebrate the debut of the Guilford Food Center (and neighboring Breakwater Books) on film while also supporting Guilford Preservation Alliance’s heritage tourism efforts with a fundraising silent auction.
