Last Chance to View Clinton Art Society Exhibit and Sale

CLINTON - Have you checked out the 63rd annual Clinton Art Society Art Exhibit and Sale at the Andrews Memorial Town Hall? With only a couple of days left, don't miss your chance to view some amazing pieces of artwork displayed in the Green Room!

This year's exhibit runs through Sunday, Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. Residents can view the artwork from 2 through 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

"A lot of artists say it's a very prestigious show to get into because it's been going on for so many years now," Clinton Art Society Co-Chair Joanne

    McCarty said.

The 2012 exhibit holds 150 pieces of artwork, including paintings and sculptures. There were more than 230 entries, which were then narrowed down by a juror and chosen to be displayed and up for sale at the Town Hall for almost the entire month of August.

The majority of the artists displayed at the exhibit are not only from the shoreline area, but instead from all over Connecticut. McCarty said that for the past couple of weeks, there have been hundreds of residents who have come into the Town Hall to view some of the astonishing art pieces and check out a variety of artwork and prices.

"There's something for everyone. There are paintings for $30 and paintings for $3,000 and more. It's a wide range of artwork, too-contemporary artwork to traditional artwork, so there's a little bit of everything," McCarty said.
