State police have made 41 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and handed out 1,024 speeding tickets so far this weekend.

State police plan to continue their Labor Day traffic enforcement operation with additional manpower until midnight Monday.

State police have also responded to 175 accidents including one with fatality in Vernon and 41 that involved injuries.

They have also handed out 188 infractions for seatbelt violations and 2,163 for hazardous moving violations.

State police are also asking motorists to report suspected drunk drivers and reckless operation. They plan to issue final statistics for the entire Labor Day weekend on Tuesday morning.
