Two Stonington shellfishing areas close because of heavy rainfall

Due to Tuesday’s heavy rainfall, the Stonington Shellfish Commission has closed conditional shellfishing areas A and Outer Quiambaug Cove.

These areas will remain closed to the harvesting of clams, oysters and mussels for a minimum of 7 days.

To determine when the shellfishing areas will reopen, call the Stonington Shellfish Commission’s Information Line at 860-599-7575.
