Mystic Seaport remains closed to public, cancels Halloween activity

Mystic Seaport will remain closed today to the public today as it cleans up and reconfigures its exhibits and ground for normal operation.

The Museum does not have power, although backup generators are supporting essential activities. It is not certain when they will reopen.

Tonight’s Halloween Trick or Treat activity is canceled.

Ken Read will go on as scheduled at 7 p.m. tonight. The talk has been moved to the Greenmanville Meeting House on the Museum grounds. Visitors are directed to use the north entrance next to Latitude 41 Restaurant & Tavern to get to the event.

Latitude 41, the Mystic Seaport Stores, Bake Shop, and Maritime Art Gallery are also closed at this time.

The Museum’s website and email service is presently down. The public is asked to check the Mystic Seaport Facebook page and Twitter feed for updates.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
