    Hunting permits issued for 10 nature preserves

    Lyme – Permits for hunting deer with firearms have been issued for 10 nature preserves managed by the town, the Nature Conservancy or the Lyme Land Conservation Trust.

    The areas are: Mount Archer Woods; and the Jewett, Eno, Plimpton, Beebe, Slawson, Chestnut Hill, Honey Hill, Hand Smith and Pickwick’s preserves. These areas will be closed on weekdays from Nov. 14 through Dec. 18 for hunters with valid consent forms from the town’s open space coordinator. They will be open on weekends, when no hunting will be allowed.

    These preserves will not be open to hunting: Hartman Park; Young Preserve; Selden Creek Preserve; Pleasant Valley Preserve; Walbridge Woodlands; Roaring Brook Preserve; Patrell Preserve; Grassy Hill Preserve; and Sterling City Preserve.
