Montville -- The Thames River Detachment #1334 of the Marine Corps League will host the second annual family concert Dec. 2 featuring former Connecticut Troubadour Tom Callinan to benefit the Toys for Tots program.

Admission to the 2 p.m. concert at the Montville VFW, 1 Raymond Hill Road, Uncasville, will be an unwrapped toy.

A folksinger, songwriter, storyteller, and multi-instrumentalist, Norwich resident Callinan has been a full-time performing artist for the past 35 years.

The Toys for Tots concert will consist of: traditional holiday songs from land and sea; seasonal standards; original compositions, including his own Toys-For-Tots song, composed in 2011, and some novelty songs from past and present.

Callinan was named the state’s first official troubadour in 1991 by the General Assembly.
