Second teen charged in Groton party beating

Groton Town police make second arrest linked to beating at party

Groton — Town Police have arrested a second man in connection with an assault during a summer party on Antonino Road that left several men injured.

Dameon L. Shaw, 19, of 287 Elm St. in New London, was charged Friday with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree criminal mischief and breach of peace.

Shaw was served with a warrant following an investigation by Groton Town police into several assaults reported during the Aug. 4 gathering at a home at 40 Antonino Road.

Police were called to the home shortly before midnight to find a large group of people gathered and several men bleeding from their heads, according to the arrest warrant affidavit. Police said one man was held on the ground while he was kicked and punched by a group that had refused to leave the party. Three people were hospitalized.

Shaw was held in lieu of $50,000 bond and due to appear Monday in New London Superior Court.

Glenn M. Shaw, 19, of New London, was arrested on similar charges Thursday. His relationship to Dameon Shaw is unknown.
