    Westerly Hospital to host colon cancer education program

    Westerly – The Westerly Hospital will host a free community education program about colon cancer from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. March 13 in the hospital’s Nardone Conference Center.

    Laryl Riley, registered nurse practitioner of gastroenterology specialists, will discuss the importance of screening for colon cancer and updated recommendations for initial and follow-up screenings. She will review the new preparations for colonoscopy which are easier and superior to those used in the past and will discuss the colonoscopy procedure. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
