    No parking in Mystic Sunday for parade

    Mystic — A temporary no parking order will be in effect between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m. this Sunday in downtown Mystic for the Mystic Irish Parade, according to the Groton Town and Stonington Police Departments. There will also be road closures in the area.

    The parking ban will affect the following streets: School Street, Brown Street, Bank Street, Orchard Lane, Rowland Street, Route 27 from Coogan Boulevard to School Street, Willow Street from Route 27 to Broadway Avenue, East Main Street from Broadway Avenue to the drawbridge, West Main Street from the drawbridge to High Street, Water Street from West Main Street to New London Road, High Street between New London Road and West Main Street, New London Road between West Main Street and Latham Street, Cliff Street west of Pearl Street, Edgecomb Street west of Burrows Street, and Library Street between West Main Street and Allyn Street.

    Road closures will take place on Sunday between 12:30 p.m. until 30 minutes after the parade ends. Route 27, Willow Street, Broadway Avenue, East Main Street, West Main Street and Water Street will be closed will be closed in the same areas as the parking ban. Additionally, Pearl Street and Gravel Street will each be closed from West Main Street to Clift Street.

    The police departments also said that consumption of alcohol will not be allowed in public areas during the parade.
