L + M to host heart-health discussion March 26
Groton – Lawrence + Memorial Hospital Cardiologist Dr. Mark Somers will host a discussion about heart health from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at the Groton Senior Center on Newtown Road.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. There are more than 600,000 deaths annually. Dr. Somers will discuss risk factors and how to lower risk for cardiac disease. He will explain how some risk factors can be modified, treated or controlled and some can’t. He will also discuss how to understand the signs and symptoms of this silent killer and ways to take charge of your heart health.
