The Board of Education for the Lyme - Old Lyme Regional District 18 will hold a district public hearing on next year’s budget request at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 1 at Lyme - Old Lyme Middle School auditorium.

The Lyme-Old Lyme Board of Education had approved a $31,741,789 budget for the 2013-14 school year, reflecting a 2.36 percent increase over the current year’s budget, at a special meeting and community forum in February.

The regional district’s operations and programs budget will increase by 1.6 percent to $27,709,107 next year. Debt service, which is a component of a regional district and will rise by $295,230 to $4,032,682 next year, accounts for the remaining budget increase.
